RULES AND REGULATIONS
governing Saint Peter's Congregation,
Stevens Point, Wis.
CHURCH REGULATIONS
1. Only those persons and families are members of St. Peter's
Congregation. who hold pews in the church, including the poor, who will
have their sitting free of charge upon making application to the Rector
each year.
2. Single persons over 20 years of age must have their own sitting
unless their parents secure it for them.
3. Persons who have no sitting in the church and wish to belong to
St. Peters Congregation must pay a pastoral fee of seven dollars per
annum in advance.
4. Whoever has no sitting in the church and shall neglect to pay the
pastoral fee, in case of death, his remains will not be brought into the
church nor be accompanied by the priest to the cemetery. If the
relatives of the deceased desire the remains be brought into the church,
and be accompanied by the priest to the cemetery, they shall first pay
to the treasury of St. Peter's Congregation a sum equal to an average
pew rent or pastoral fee for time past, thus complying with the
Christian duty of supporting the church.
5. Any pew holder finding his pew occupied by another will notify one
of the trustees or ushers who will see to it that it is vacated.
6. No person shall occupy more sittings than he has rented.
7. Strangers will be accompanied by speaking to one of the ushers or
trustees.
8. Pew rent becomes due the first Sunday of every quarter. 1st
quarter begins with the first Sunday of January 2nd quarter begins with
the first Sunday of April 3rd quarter begins with the first Sunday of
July 4th quarter begins with the first Sunday of October.
9. Whoever fails to pay his pew rent during the quarter, forfeits his
right to his pew on the first Sunday of the next quarter without further
notice.
10. Only those male members of the Congregation are allowed to vote
or be eligible for office, who have at the time of election paid up all
their dues so the Congregation.
11. Extension of time in paying pew rent may be obtained by applying
in person to she Secretary or Rector.
12. For certain public occasions, viz: First Communion, Confirmation,
special celebrations of societies, all rented pews are at the
disposition of the Rector.
