Hie Corner One Room School House Program
Our Hie Corner One Room School House program has been extremely successful! All the 4th grade students from the Stevens Point Area School District as well as students from parochial schools, Wisconsin Rapids School District, Amherst School district and others attend a half day program at our Hie Corner School.
Judy Lyons and Shirley Multhauf, both retired teachers and Historical Society Board members, handle the arrangements for these classroom sessions. They teach the majority of the sessions but rely on other retired and current teachers to help with conducting classes of 25 students. Number of students per year experiencing this bit of history? Over 1,000!
