Civil War Encampment 2008

The year 2008 was Stevens Point's 150th Anniversary as a city. As part of the Society's celebration of this event the annual Civil War Encampment was held at Pfiffner Park along the Wisconsin River in Stevens Point.

This year we featured a recruitment on the square. This was the actual location of many recruitment campaigns held during the Civil War.

• Recruitment -- A detachment marches to the Square; a Salute is fired and a rousing enlistment speech is given; people enlist; march back to camp; and begin training for "army life". (27 total photos)
