Artifact Donations

Do you have a piece of Portage County History that you think PCHS might be interested in preserving for future generations? To learn more about what items we collect, please take a look at our Collections Guidelines.

The Portage County Historical Society does not accept unsolicited drop-off, walk-in, or mail-in donations. If you have an artifact that you think would be a fit for our collection, e-mail our curator at collections@pchswi.org. All artifact donations are reviewed by our Collections Committee on a monthly basis. To be considered for donation, offers must include the provenance of the items (who, what, where, when, and how), as well as include photographs displaying the identity and condition of the items.

The Portage County Historical Society has been preserving history for close to 75 years. The above policy works to ensure our finite bandwidth and resources are at maximum service to the PCHS mission: Sharing the stories of Portage County through education and preservation.
