Historical Society Events

The society hosts several Educational Programs as well as annual events and displays. Our Heritage Days held in June at Heritage Park depicts various aspects of Portage County History. In addition the Rising Star Mill has its own events schedule.

The Society also holds an Annual Meeting open to the public and participates in several local events. The Annual Meeting will be held April 13, 2016 at the Stevens Point Public Library's Pinery Room at 6:30pm.

Heritage Park

Heritage Days June 18th & 19th, 2016. Main display is our Doll Collection.

“Bring Your Doll to a Tea Party” at the Cottage Cafe. Kids are invited to bring their dolls (and parent) to the Cottage to hear Laura Keyes present a story about Laura Engles Wilder (the Little House series). There will be a charge for event of $8.50 for children and $11.00 for adults. The Tea will begin at 2 pm on Saturday, June 18th. There will be a menu for Children of tea/milk or juice with PB & J sandwiches and cookies. For adults the menu is tea/milk or juice with cucumber sandwiches and cookies. Space will be limited to 44 persons.
