Come help us welcome back this incredibly talented group - the Can’t Lie Low Quartet! With an entertaining mix of traditional and contemporary folk music, you’ll hear a blend of guitars, bass, mandolin and flute as well as harmonies and acapellas that serve up a truly enjoyable evening.

Explore this year’s version of the annual art show, offering interesting and unique shopping indoors and outdoors! You’ll find a wide variety of artisans exhibiting artwork, photography, woodworking, pottery, fabric art, yard art... and much, much more! There will be an “Intuitional Channeler” for your enjoyment, as well as face painting and poetry walks for the children. The Mill’s “Feed Sack” will be open for refreshments. Come and join the fun!

This gifted singer-songwriter makes a much-requested return to the Rising Star Mill. Along with his acoustic guitar, he has played folk clubs and festivals all across the country, leaving audiences on their feet with standing ovations. His powerful lyrics reveal his keen fascination with life’s journey, and draws listeners close to the memories and revelations that make the journey worth traveling. This is a CD release concert in which L.J. is joined by other musicians.

Starring John Candy, Dan Ackroyd and Annette Bening Come and delight in this wonderful comedy about Chet, a big-hearted family man, who ventures to one of Wisconsin’s big woods on a lake for a relaxing family vacation. He is unexpectedly joined by his wheeler-dealer snake of a brother-in-law, his icy sister-in-law, and their creepy twin daughters. Another unexpected guest makes an appearance at the cabin door and adds to the fun and craziness of a very enjoyable movie.

On August 22, the Rising Star Mill will be echoing with the beautiful sounds of Jeff Pockat, a self-taught Gaelic harp musician and composer. His music, performed on the Ancient Wire Strung Celtic Harp, includes traditional and original pieces that soothe the mind, body and soul. Come and get into the spirit!

Jenny and Tom McComb, along with Dave Story and Kevin Knopp, comprise the exciting Tom McComb Quartet. They have been uniting for gigs and concerts for the last eight years, performing a hybrid style that melds original compositions with classic jazz and Brazilian traditions. This talented Wisconsin foursome is a rare find for any lover of fine music and jazz. Together, they play music with verve, intelligence and a sense of beauty.

The Rising Star Mill will once again host an Open House coinciding with The Hidden Studio Art Tour scheduled during the first weekend in October. While you’re driving around the countryside visiting the studios - stop by, tour the mill... or just relax with some tasty refreshments.

The Stevens Point Area YMCA Boys & Girls Clubs are teaming up once again to provide a fun and eerie experience during their fifth annual haunting of The Rising Star Mill. A special family and younger children showing will be open daily from 5:30 - 6:30 PM (the lights will be on and there will be no live creatures during this hour).
