Current Internship Opportunities
The Portage County Historical Society is excited to offer 4 paid programming internship opportunities for the summer of 2022 at our historic site locations. These internships will offer hand on, professional experiences in museum settings where interns will create a tour and presentation for the public. Interns will also staff their assigned sites two Saturdays per month, building experience in museum administration.
The positions will be divided among Beth Israel Synagogue Museum in Stevens Point (1 intern), Historic Fire House No. 2 in Stevens Point (1 intern), and Heritage Park in Plover (2 interns).
Salary: 6 hours per week at $12.50 per hour
Length/Dates: 15 weeks, running from May 23 to September 2
Responsibilities:

Staffing assigned site two weekends per month

Creation of tour content for assigned site

Creation of public presentation for assigned site

Provide site guests with exceptional customer service

Complete gift shop sales transactions
Qualifications:

Undergraduate or graduate student with major or minor in history, education, or communication

Good written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Powerpoint
